Save this country from destruction

I am only a housewife who is fed up with the country leaders'
as they never stop battling it out for power, condemning each
other and taking revenge, which only causes misery for the
people.

I hope that Ibu Megawati Soekarnoputri's election as the fifth
President of the Republic of Indonesia replacing the former
President Abdurrahman Wahid can lead the country toward a better
future. It's a woman's nature to be soft-hearted, gentle, easily-
moved and certainly devoid of malice, so she can be expected to
take wise measures.

Allow me to call on Ibu Mega and her cabinet to save the
country from destruction. This country has been in tears for too
long, dreaming of receiving motherly caresses and affection. We
all hope that Ibu Mega can give the nation what the words in a
famous children's song express: "Mother's love to me lasts
forever. She gives and gives, expects nothing in return, just
like the sun that brightens the world".

Last but not least, hats off to the members of the People's
Consultative Assembly as well as House of Representatives for the
important and historic decision to make Ibu Mega the country's
fifth president.
