Saudia Airlines and Garuda Indonesia have signed a Joint Business Framework Agreement as a step towards strengthening cooperation and air connectivity between Saudi Arabia and Indonesia. Director General of Saudia Airlines Ibrahim Al-Omar said the agreement represents a new milestone in the relationship between the two airlines.

“We are pleased to be in Jakarta and to create a new milestone in the cooperation between Saudia Arabia and Garuda Indonesia,” Ibrahim said at the signing of the Joint Business Framework Agreement between Saudia Airlines and Garuda Indonesia at the Raffles Hotel, Jakarta, on Thursday (27/8/2026).

According to Ibrahim, the agreement reflects the shared ambition of both airlines to enhance cooperation while strengthening air connectivity between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Indonesia. Ibrahim said Saudia’s relationship with Indonesia itself has been established since 1985, when the airline began its operations in Jakarta.

“Since then, our operations have continued to grow and respond to the increasing travel demand between the two countries,” Ibrahim continued.

Ibrahim said the partnership between Saudia and Garuda Indonesia is now entering its next phase, which can open up broader access and provide a smoother travel experience for passengers. Ibrahim expressed hope that this cooperation will also strengthen Indonesia’s connectivity with Saudi Arabia and other international flight networks.

“Today, we are taking the partnership with Garuda Indonesia to the next phase, creating greater access and providing a smoother travel experience between Indonesia, Saudi Arabia and beyond,” Ibrahim added.

Ibrahim affirmed that Saudia is committed to building global partnerships that can improve access to Saudi Arabia and connect the kingdom with various markets around the world. This step, Ibrahim said, is also in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

“At Saudia, we remain committed to building global partnerships that enhance access and connect Saudi Arabia with other markets around the world, and to participating in the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030,” Ibrahim said.

Ibrahim also expressed his appreciation to Garuda Indonesia and all teams from both parties who have brought the cooperation to this important milestone. Ibrahim expressed hope that the partnership between the two airlines can open a new chapter of cooperation and produce shared success.

“Together, we look forward to a new chapter in this collaboration,” Ibrahim said.
