Saudi Warns Iran Not to Miscalculate

The Saudi government has urged Iran to act prudently in launching its attacks against the United States and Israel. The warning was delivered by Saudi Defence Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman after a meeting with Pakistan’s military chief. ‘We discussed Iran’s attack on the Kingdom and the steps required to stop it… We emphasised that such actions undermine regional security and stability and expressed hope that Iran will act wisely and avoid miscalculation,’ read a posting by Khalid on his social media. According to AFP and Euronews, on Saturday (7 March 2026), the Saudi Ministry of Defence said drones were again launched into the Kingdom’s territory in the early hours of Saturday. The ministry said it intercepted four drones attacking the Shaybah oil field, located deep in the Empty Quarter desert. This was the second attack within a few hours. Saudi intercepts Iranian drones. Earlier, the ministry said it had intercepted drone attacks targeting areas around the Saudi capital Riyadh. The ministry also said it intercepted two ballistic missiles targeting Prince Sultan Air Base. Iran Launches ‘New-Generation’ Missiles. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) previously announced the launch of a 23rd wave of ‘Operation True Promise 4’. In this operation they deployed new-generation missile systems aimed at Israel and US bases in the Middle East. In a statement on Friday (6 March) local time, the IRGC Public Relations Office said the latest phase of the operation was conducted that day as part of a joint drone-and-missile attack. The statement said the latest wave involved advanced missile systems designed to strike multiple targets. ‘In this wave, new-generation solid- and liquid-fuel missiles targeted targets in the occupied territories and at American bases in the region,’ the IRGC said in its statement, cited by Iran’s state media Press TV, Saturday (7 March 2026). ‘The bases of the US terrorist forces at Sheikh Isa, Juffair, Ali al-Salem, and al-Azraq were among those hit in this wave,’ the statement said, referring to the US forward posts in Bahrain, Kuwait, and Jordan. The IRGC also said targets inside the occupied territories were hit during the operation. ‘Also in the strategically sensitive Be’er Sheva in the occupied territories, the high-tech hub, cyber-security facilities, and military-support centres were among the targets,’ the IRGC said, referring to the occupied city that functions as the regime’s technology hub in Israel.
