Saudi National Found Dead in Bima, Police Discover Alcohol and Medication

A Saudi Arabian national has died at his domicile in Oi Saro Village, Sanggar District, Bima Regency, West Nusa Tenggara. Police discovered leftover generic medication and several bottles of alcohol at the location. The deceased, a male with the initials MSM, was 52 years old, according to Bima Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head Iptu Ghufron Subeki on Wednesday. MSM breathed his last en route to the Sanggar Community Health Centre on Tuesday after his health condition worsened. Prior to his death, a local resident found MSM lying weak on a sofa at his residence on Monday. The witness attempted to ask about his condition but received no response. The witness then bought food for MSM and informed the Oi Sari village head. The village head and the witness later returned to find MSM still in a weakened state. A healthcare worker was called to examine him, recording his blood pressure at 170/130, with foam coming from his mouth and a strong smell of alcohol. As his condition deteriorated, residents and the healthcare worker attempted to transport him to the Sanggar Community Health Centre, but he passed away during the journey. His body was taken to Bima Regional General Hospital by ambulance, accompanied by his wife and police personnel. Following a report, the Bima Police deployed a crime scene investigation team. At the scene, officers secured half a bottle of red wine from the refrigerator and six empty bottles of various alcoholic beverages, along with several packets of generic medication. A black sling bag containing a passport and documents was also found behind the bedroom door. No signs of violence were discovered on the body. Police have not yet concluded the cause of death, as further medical examination or an autopsy is required. However, the family, through the Saudi Arabian Embassy in Jakarta, has only permitted an external examination and formally refused an autopsy. The body is currently in the process of being repatriated to Saudi Arabia for burial.
