Saudi Ministry of Health delivers 2.5 million services during Hajj 1447 AH
The Saudi Ministry of Health announced the successful operation of healthcare services during the 1447 AH Hajj season, confirming no disease outbreaks or public health threats among pilgrims. Medical teams delivered over 2.5 million health services from the start of Hajj until 12 Dhu al-Hijjah. Data showed 114,889 patients treated at health centres and emergency facilities, with 58,462 emergency cases handled and 29,846 outpatient clinic visits. Additionally, 8,342 patients were hospitalised, and specialist teams performed 410 surgeries, including 323 cardiac catheterisations and 33 open-heart procedures. Health authorities also conducted over 292,585 preventive services, while the integrated 937 service centre received over one million calls providing 24/7 medical support and consultations in seven languages. Advanced medical technologies were extensively used, including drones for rapid delivery of medicines and medical equipment. Specialists employed medical robotics for complex procedures, and smartwatches monitored vital signs of high-risk pilgrims remotely.
