Saudi Legislator Condemns Israeli Occupation, Here's Why

Arab Parliament Chairman Mohamed Al-Yammahi has strongly condemned the Israeli occupation’s rejection of the roadmap for completing the implementation of the Gaza peace plan, as well as the plan proposed by US President Donald Trump and supported by the UN Security Council under Resolution 2803. He described the move as open defiance of the will of the international community and a deliberate attempt to undermine political and diplomatic efforts to end the war and alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people. In a statement, Al-Yammahi welcomed the joint statement issued by several Arab and Islamic countries, which declared that the Israeli occupation bears responsibility for efforts to obstruct the peace plan. He called on the international community, as well as regional and international parliaments, to take a firmer stance against Israel’s intransigence and to exert effective political and legal pressure to compel Israel to comply with the roadmap and end its violations against the Palestinian people. He also called for the implementation of relevant international resolutions, with the ultimate goal of ending the occupation and establishing an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
