Saudi-led coalition orders evacuation from Houthi oil facility
Istanbul (ANTARA) — The Saudi-led coalition backing Yemen’s internationally recognised government has called on civilians to evacuate an oil facility in the Houthi-controlled capital, Sanaa, ahead of a planned military operation.
In a statement on Tuesday, coalition spokesman Major General Turki al-Maliki urged civilians to leave the Al-Sabaha central station, operated by Yemen Petroleum Co., for their safety. The coalition also released a map showing the facility’s location.
The evacuation warning came shortly after al-Maliki announced on X, the social media platform owned by a US company, that the coalition would warn civilians before launching “precision operations”.
The announcement comes amid renewed tensions between the coalition and the Houthi movement in Yemen.
