Jakarta — The Minister of Interior (Mendagri) of Saudi Arabia, who is also the Chairman of the Hajj Supreme Committee, Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud, reviewed the operational readiness of the Hajj security forces in implementing the security and arrangement plan approved for the 1447 AH Hajj season.

According to a press statement received by ANTARA in Jakarta on Friday, the review took place on Thursday (21 May) as part of the annual event organised by the Hajj security authorities in Makkah.

The Director of Public Security and also Chairman of the Hajj Security Committee, Lieutenant General Mohammed Al-Bassami, in his speech said that Saudi leadership has mobilised all capabilities and resources to serve the pilgrims.

Thus, he said, making the Kingdom a global model in crowd management and the organisation of large-scale operations.

Al-Bassami also explained that the Hajj security forces have begun implementing comprehensive security and preventive plans based on lessons from previous seasons.

The security forces were also involved in planning various scenarios to ensure the safety and security of pilgrims in Makkah, the holy sites, Madinah, and along all routes used by pilgrims.

He added that the Hajj security system operates with the highest level of field readiness and integration, supported by advanced technology and a command and control centre aimed at enhancing coordination, expediting decision-making, and operational response.

The event also featured live simulations of security and field operation scenarios demonstrating the readiness and operational capabilities of the participating forces, as well as an exhibition of security vehicles, modern technology, and air support used during the Hajj season.

Attending the event were among others the Emir of Madinah, who is also the Chairman of the Permanent Hajj and Umrah Committee in Madinah, Prince Salman bin Sultan; the Deputy Emir of the Makkah Region, Prince Saud bin Mishaal; ministers members of the Hajj Supreme Committee, senior military and security commanders, and several senior officials.
