Saudi Arabia's Stance Following Iran's Attack on UAE Port

RIYADH – Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) held a phone call with UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed on Monday (4 May 2026), during which he condemned Iran’s attack on the United Arab Emirates.

The Saudi Press Agency reported that in the conversation, Prince MBS reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s support for the UAE’s security and stability. The two leaders also discussed the latest developments in the region and efforts to enhance regional security and stability.

It is known that on Monday (4 May 2026), Iran reportedly attacked several ships in the Strait of Hormuz. Moreover, an important oil port in the Fujairah region of the UAE was reported to be on fire after being hit by a drone.

Fujairah has long been known as an alternative route for oil exports that does not pass through the Strait of Hormuz, so this attack marks Iran’s expansion of strategic targets.
