Saudi Arabia's oil pipeline facilities fully operational again
Moscow (ANTARA) - Saudi Arabia has successfully restored full capacity to the East-West oil pipeline after attacks on energy facilities temporarily reduced production capacity by around 600,000 barrels per day, the kingdom’s Gulf-region Ministry of Energy stated on Sunday. “The Ministry of Energy announces the success of operational and technical efforts in restoring full throughput capacity via the East-West pipeline, reaching approximately seven million barrels per day,” the ministry’s statement said. Oil flow through the East-West pipeline connects oil fields in eastern Saudi Arabia with the Yanbu port on the Red Sea, located in the western part of the kingdom. The Saudi Press Agency SPA reported that the Middle East conflict temporarily disrupted operations at several major Saudi energy facilities. The disruptions included damage to pump stations along the pipeline route transporting oil from the eastern region to the western part of the kingdom, resulting in a loss of throughput capacity of around 700,000 barrels per day.
