Saudi Arabia to delay normalisation of relations with Israel until Israeli election

Saudi Arabia does not intend to normalise relations with Israel until Israel’s parliamentary election in September, according to Axios news portal reports citing Israeli and US officials. The same outlet reported that US President Donald Trump urged Muslim nations to join the Abraham Accords with Israel should Washington reach a deal with Iran. In 2020, the US launched a process aimed at normalising relations between Israel and Arab states, resulting in a series of signed documents known as the Abraham Accords.
