Saudi Arabia Successfully Intercepts Missiles from Yemen Targeting Oil Refinery

Saudi Arabia successfully intercepted two ballistic missiles launched from Yemen, according to a news report. The missiles were shot down by Greek-operated air defence systems stationed in the kingdom and were aimed at oil refineries in the city of Yanbu, a security source told Reuters. The attack comes after a Houthi spokesman warned of retaliation for Saudi military operations in Yemen. Mohammed Abdulsalam, the Houthis’ chief negotiator, accused Saudi Arabia of using military action and economic pressure after what he called the failure of the kingdom’s eight-year war. He claimed that Saudi actions targeting Hodeidah and Sanaa airport would escalate the conflict and impact the kingdom’s own security and economy.
