Saudi Arabia Launches One-Year Multiple-Entry Umrah Visa: Requirements and Costs

The Saudi Arabian government has officially launched a one-year multiple-entry Umrah visa, enabling pilgrims to enter the Kingdom multiple times without needing to apply for a new visa for each trip. Announced by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, the policy aims to provide greater ease and flexibility for worshippers from various countries, although the visa cannot be used during the Hajj season.

According to Gulf News, the multiple-entry Umrah visa is valid for 365 days from the date of issuance. During this period, holders may enter and exit Saudi Arabia multiple times, with a maximum total stay of 90 days. A key requirement is that prospective pilgrims must book an official Umrah package through the Nusuk platform before applying for the visa. The available packages range from standard to premium and luxury categories, typically covering visa processing, mandatory Umrah insurance, hotel accommodation, transport, meals, and ground transportation within Saudi Arabia.

Once a package is selected and purchased, the sponsoring travel agency or official Umrah agent will process the visa application. Before departure, pilgrims are also required to obtain an Umrah Permit via the Nusuk application. Required documents include a passport valid for at least six months, a recent passport-sized photograph with a white background, a return or onward flight ticket, proof of hotel or accommodation booking, and a travel itinerary. The visa cost depends on the chosen Umrah package, with standard packages priced between approximately IDR 8.9 million and IDR 12 million, whilst luxury packages range from around IDR 22.4 million to IDR 31.4 million. Although the visa can be used multiple times within a year, each Umrah journey still requires pilgrims to book a service package through Nusuk, obtain an Umrah permit, and comply with all current regulations in Saudi Arabia prior to departure.
