Saudi Arabia Launches One-Year Multi-Entry Umrah Visa
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia — The Saudi Arabian Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has officially introduced a new policy in the form of a multi-entry umrah visa valid for one year.
The policy allows international pilgrims to visit Saudi Arabia several times within a year, easing their worship and enriching their spiritual experience.
Citing The National News, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported that the visa remains active for 365 days from the date of issue. During its validity, pilgrims are granted a maximum cumulative stay of up to 90 days.
However, the multi-entry visa does not apply during the Hajj season.
Under the new visa system, pilgrims must purchase a service package from an approved provider on the Nusuk application each time they enter Saudi Arabia. The package duration must not exceed the number of days remaining on the visa.
Pilgrims must also obtain an umrah permit through the Nusuk application before travelling, SPA said.
“This step is in line with Saudi Vision 2030 and the goals of the Pilgrim Experience Programme to facilitate arrivals, enrich the pilgrims’ experience, and improve the efficiency of services,” the ministry said.
Through Vision 2030, Saudi Arabia is targeting a surge in visits by Muslims from around the world whilst diversifying the country’s economy beyond petroleum.
