Saudi Arabia intercepts three drones entering its airspace via Iraq
Riyadh (ANTARA) - The Saudi Arabian Ministry of Defence announced on Sunday (17/5) that it successfully intercepted three unmanned aerial vehicles after they entered the kingdom’s airspace from Iraq. Brigadier General Turki Al-Maliki, the official spokesperson for the Saudi Ministry of Defence, stated on the social media platform X that the ministry reserves the right to respond at the appropriate time and place. He stated that the authorities will take and implement all necessary operational steps to respond to any attack attempts targeting the sovereignty, security, and safety of the kingdom’s citizens and residents. In recent months, the Saudi Ministry of Defence has announced that it has intercepted and destroyed a number of drones entering the kingdom’s airspace. The region remains plagued by instability amidst conflicts involving the United States, Israel, and Iran.
