Saudi Arabia guarantees smooth and secure Hajj pilgrimage for Indonesian worshippers
Tangerang (ANTARA) - The Saudi Ambassador to Indonesia, Faisal Abdullah H. Amodi, emphasised that his country guarantees the smooth operation and security of prospective Hajj pilgrims while performing their worship in the Kingdom.
“We reaffirm the important role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in providing services to all Muslims worldwide, including Indonesia, which has the largest number of Hajj pilgrims in the world,” said Ambassador Faisal Abdullah at a press conference in Tangerang on Saturday evening.
He stated that Indonesian Hajj pilgrims have consistently been the largest group in the world undertaking the pilgrimage in the Holy Land of Makkah. King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz are committed to continuously providing the best services for Hajj pilgrims.
This, he said, has been demonstrated through good cooperation between the two countries by creating new initiatives, namely the widespread introduction of Makkah Route services in Indonesia.
“The aim of this initiative is to provide convenience to some Hajj pilgrims from around the world, including Indonesia, before they depart from their respective countries to Saudi Arabia,” he explained.
Upon arrival in Saudi Arabia, Hajj pilgrims will proceed directly to their accommodation via a special route without having to queue again for entry procedures.
“And of course, we once again pray for the Indonesian Hajj pilgrims that they be granted health and ease in smoothly performing their Hajj worship and return to their homeland safely without feeling tired,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Mochamad Irfan Yusuf, stated that to date, 56 batches covering 25,200 prospective Hajj pilgrims from Indonesia have been flown to Saudi Arabia.
“And alhamdulillah, everything has gone smoothly thanks to this cooperation,” he said.
