Saudi Arabia Appreciates Indonesia's Synergy in Successful 2026 Hajj Operations
The Saudi Arabian Embassy in Jakarta and Saudia Airlines have strengthened their collaboration with Indonesia following the successful implementation of the 1447 Hijri/2026 Hajj season. This was marked by a Hajj Appreciation 2026 event held in Jakarta on Thursday, honouring government agencies, airport authorities, and strategic partners who contributed to the smooth operations.
Reham Zarei, Director of East Asia and Australia for Saudia Airlines, stated that the award was a recognition of the synergy among all stakeholders who worked together to support the seamless execution of the national Hajj pilgrimage. She noted that during this year’s Hajj season, Saudia Airlines served approximately 101,860 Indonesian pilgrims across six embarkation points: Jakarta (Pondok Gede and Bekasi), Batam, Palembang, Kertajati, and Surabaya. According to Reham, this achievement is strong evidence of the collaboration between various parties in ensuring flight operations were safe, smooth, and punctual.
She affirmed that this year’s success serves as a foundation for Saudia Airlines to continue improving service quality and strengthening cooperation with the Indonesian Government to enhance the pilgrimage experience in the future. During the occasion, Saudia Airlines also presented awards to the Hajj operational committee for their dedication and service to Indonesian pilgrims.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Indonesia, Faisal Abdullah Al-Amoudi, said the success of this year’s Hajj demonstrates the Kingdom’s commitment to continuously improving service quality for Muslims worldwide. He attributed the success to a well-established system, the benefits of which are still felt today, under the direct guidance of King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Al-Amoudi added that this achievement also underscores the close relationship between the Indonesian and Saudi Arabian governments, which continues to grow through various fields of cooperation, especially given the very large number of Indonesian pilgrims travelling to the holy land.
He expressed his deepest gratitude and appreciation to all parties who contributed to the success of the Hajj operations, particularly the airport authorities and the Ministries of Hajj and Umrah from both countries. Al-Amoudi further emphasised that the Saudi Arabian Government will remain committed to providing the best services and support for the Hajj pilgrimage of Muslims worldwide, stating that the Kingdom is always dedicated to facilitating the pilgrimage for the faithful. As a token of appreciation for the successful Hajj season, the Saudi Arabian Embassy and Saudia Airlines presented awards to more than 20 Hajj organisers in Indonesia.
