Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has announced full operational readiness for Tarwiyah Day, confirming all field preparations and logistics for pilgrim deployment to Mina are complete, according to SPA on Monday.

Tarwiyah Day (8 Dhu al-Hijjah) marks the first day of the Hajj rituals and a crucial stage in the pilgrimage process. On this day, pilgrims enter ihram (the sacred state for Hajj) and travel from Mecca to Mina for an overnight stay (mabit), performing obligatory prayers until the following morning.

The readiness measures include an integrated logistics framework designed to optimise pilgrim movement to their tents while monitoring service quality across the holy sites through close coordination with relevant agencies.

Operational duties involve overseeing pilgrim movement from accommodation to Mina, ensuring smooth entry into camp areas, providing continuous guidance, and assisting pilgrims in locating their assigned locations as per the official 1447 AH Hajj operational plan.

As part of proactive monitoring, the ministry has conducted over 83,000 field inspections of service facilities since the start of Dhu al-Qi’dah, the 11th month of the Islamic calendar.

These comprehensive inspections, carried out in collaboration with partner agencies, covered pilgrim accommodation sites, food service centres, camping areas, and all active service locations.

The steps aim to ensure comprehensive service readiness, verify compliance with operational requirements, and address any issues directly to guarantee a safe, comfortable, and seamless worship experience for pilgrims.
