The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Indonesia, Faisal Abdullah H Amodi, has highlighted attacks by terrorist militia groups on several cities in Saudi Arabia. He identified several militias involved in these attacks.

“Regarding the existence of an alliance formed by the Al-Houthi group in Yemen with groups or splinter factions of Al-Qaeda, namely the Al-Shabaab group in Somalia,” Faisal stated during a press conference at the Saudi Embassy in Jakarta on Friday (1/11/2026).

He noted that the attacks by this alliance do not only impact the Middle East region. According to him, these attacks disrupt the stability and security of maritime waters that serve as international shipping routes.

“And once again, this alliance does not only impact regional stability but will certainly have a very significant impact on the international community,” he added.

Faisal explained that the alliance’s attacks also impact Indonesia. He stated that the motive behind these attacks is to create instability.

“These events are very dangerous and have a significant impact on Indonesia and the Indonesian people specifically,” he said.

He assessed that the alliance prioritises the individual or group interests over international world stability. Faisal emphasised that his country possesses the sovereign right to defend itself in accordance with international law.

“We in Saudi Arabia certainly reject such actions, and we maintain our legitimate right and legitimacy to protect or defend our territory, whether from Houthi attacks or other groups, in accordance with international customs, international law, and United Nations conventions,” he concluded.
