“We reiterate the Kingdom’s stance in rejecting and condemning Iran’s attacks on Saudi Arabia, other Gulf states, and friendly Arab and Islamic countries,” he said at a press conference in Jakarta on Tuesday.

He said the ongoing attacks have caused losses to civilians and infrastructure and violate international law and principles of good neighborliness.

“We also reiterate our rejection and condemnation of the impact of these attacks on regional political stability, particularly those targeting Saudi Arabia,” he said.

According to Faisal, the Kingdom has taken a prudent approach in responding to Iran’s provocations while affirming its right to self-defense through diplomatic and non-diplomatic means.

He stressed the need for an immediate halt to the attacks in line with UN Security Council Resolution 2718, which has been supported by 136 UN member states.

The ambassador said the attacks have targeted civilian and other sites in Saudi Arabia and neighboring countries, causing casualties and significant material and moral damage.

He added that continued attacks would worsen Iran’s political situation and deepen its international isolation.

“These attacks also negatively affect the solidarity and unity of Muslims,” Faisal said.

He also emphasized the importance of cooperation to ensure freedom of navigation and trade in the Strait of Hormuz to avoid negative impacts on the global economy and international peace and security.
