Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Indonesia, Faisal Abdullah Al Amoudi, hopes that the graduates of the Institute of Islamic and Arabic Sciences (LIPIA) Jakarta will make positive contributions to development.

“Be the best ambassadors of the noble values that you have learned, grounded in moderation, love for goodness, righteous deeds, and the prosperity of the earth. You are the hope of the future, the pillars of revival, and the bridge to a bright future,” said Faisal in his statement in Jakarta on Wednesday (29/4).

The statement was delivered at the LIPIA Jakarta graduation ceremony, which was also attended by the Indonesian Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar, Deputy Speaker of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) RI Hidayat Nur Wahid, and representatives of Arab countries in Jakarta.

Faisal emphasised that education is the main pillar of national revival as well as a long-term investment.

He also conveyed appreciation to King of Saudi Arabia Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for their support in the development of education, both domestically and abroad.

“Education is the strongest bridge of communication between nations, as well as the main foundation in disseminating knowledge and reinforcing values of moderation and balance,” said Faisal.

He also appreciated the Indonesian government and society for their support of LIPIA.

“This reflects the deeply rooted fraternal relations between the two countries. The support of the Indonesian government plays a very significant role for this institution in carrying out its noble mission and achieving its scientific and educational goals,” he stated.

Meanwhile, the Dean of LIPIA, Waleed Abdullah al Othman, said that graduation is not the end, but the beginning of new responsibilities.

“Remember that knowledge is a trust, and knowledge is a great responsibility. The ummah awaits your contributions, so hold firmly to noble values, continue to develop yourselves for intellectual advancement, and strengthen moderation amid global challenges,” he said.

LIPIA graduated 2,998 students from batches 50 to 53 across various majors.
