The Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Indonesia, Faisal Abdullah Al-Amudi, has highlighted King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud’s dedication to the Muslim community through his invitation to Muslims from across the globe, including Indonesia, to perform the Umrah pilgrimage.

“This event is carried out as a form of commitment from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, specifically King Salman bin Abdulaziz, to meet the needs of Muslims worldwide,” stated Ambassador Faisal Abdullah Al-Amudi in Jakarta on Tuesday.

The statement was made during the departure ceremony for 40-50 Umrah pilgrims from Indonesia, travelling under the invitation of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, held at the Saudi Arabian Embassy in Jakarta.

The programme serves as a testament to King Salman’s profound concern for the welfare of Muslims globally.

Through this initiative, the Ambassador expressed his hope that the Umrah guests would return to their homeland having successfully completed their pilgrimage and received blessings from Allah SWT.

He also expressed his hope that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Arab world would continue to prosper in the future, providing benefits and blessings to all nations and all Muslims worldwide, including Indonesia.

This year’s Indonesian Umrah pilgrims were dispatched to Medina in a single departure phase. They were part of the first wave of departures alongside dozens of other pilgrims from the Philippines, Malaysia, Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, Myanmar, Laos, Singapore, China, Japan, Republic of Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Mongolia.

The pilgrims represent various educational institutions and Islamic organisations from across Indonesia. They will undertake their Umrah pilgrimage over the next two weeks, with the total costs fully sponsored by King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

Through this Umrah invitation, Ambassador Faisal hopes that the bonds of brotherhood between the peoples of both nations will grow stronger, thereby reinforcing bilateral relations. “May the current relationship between Indonesia and Saudi Arabia continue to increase and grow even stronger,” he concluded.
