The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s government has condemned Iran’s attacks on several countries in the Middle East region. Saudi Arabia suspects that the attacks launched by Iran on various regional countries were premeditated.

“We wish to express our condemnation or rejection of the attacks carried out by Iran against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as well as against the Gulf Arab states and other Arab Islamic countries in the region,” said the Saudi Ambassador to Indonesia, Faisal Abdullah Al Amoudi, at the Saudi Embassy in South Jakarta on Thursday (26/3/2026).

“Certainly, the hostility carried out by Iran, particularly against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states, was indeed prepared in advance to intentionally wage hostility against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and other countries,” he continued.

According to Faisal, Iran’s actions illustrate a desire to create disturbances in the region. He emphasised that the series of Iranian attacks on Gulf states have violated international law.

“And to this day, the attacks carried out by Iran continue unabated in the region,” he stated.

He said that the attacks have now caused distrust among regional countries towards Iran. Faisal stressed that Iran’s attacks will not bring benefits to the Persian state.

“Iran, on this occasion, is deliberately trying to sidestep or evade the responsibilities it has undertaken towards these countries,” Faisal remarked.

On the other hand, Saudi Arabia welcomes support from the international community, including UN resolution number 2817, which was approved by nearly 163 UN member states.

Ambassador Faisal also mentioned the Human Rights Council resolution in Geneva, which highlights human rights violations resulting from Iran’s attacks.

“This resolution also strongly condemns Iran’s actions against vital sites, infrastructure, airports, and other vital locations,” Faisal said.

“The resolution also states that these actions are directed at countries that are truly not involved in this war and are certainly contrary to prevailing principles,” he added.

Faisal emphasised the need to maintain stability in maritime waters in accordance with international conventions, strongly rejecting Iran’s actions against ships sailing in the Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz. He discussed their impact on the global economy, energy security, and world food needs.

“We strongly reject and vehemently condemn Iran’s actions targeting ships sailing in the Gulf region, especially those in the Gulf or the Strait of Hormuz. The impacts are, of course, very clear, both in terms of security and the global economy in general,” Faisal explained.

Saudi Arabia, according to Ambassador Faisal, continues to prioritise diplomatic solutions. However, it is prepared to defend its sovereignty and national security.

“Therefore, on this occasion, we also wish to reaffirm that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will not hesitate to continue defending its territory and sovereignty, as well as protecting the security of its citizens, expatriates, or foreign nationals within it, in accordance with international law and by prioritising diplomatic solutions, of course,” he concluded.
