JAKARTA - The Saudi Ambassador to Indonesia, Faisal Abdullah Al Amoudi, has emphasised that the Hajj pilgrimage for 1447 Hijriah, corresponding to 2026 CE, will proceed as planned.

“Once again, it is emphasised that this year’s Hajj implementation will run according to plan. There are no problems,” said Faisal when receiving the Chairman of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), Anwar Iskandar, on Thursday (16/4/2026), quoted from Antara.

In that meeting, Faisal and Anwar also prayed for the prospective Indonesian Hajj pilgrims to perform their worship smoothly in the Holy Land.

“May the Indonesian Hajj pilgrims be able to carry out the Hajj worship safely and comfortably, and obtain rewards that match,” said Faisal.

He also invited Indonesian society and government to jointly preserve the sanctity of the Holy Land.

Previously, Deputy Minister for Hajj and Umrah Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak stated that the Saudi Arabian Kingdom’s government guarantees the Hajj worship will take place well, even amidst the Middle East conflict.

“Up to today, the Saudi Arabian Kingdom’s government assures that everything is fine. Everything can be controlled, and they guarantee that this year’s pilgrimage process can run well,” said Dahnil at the Pondok Gede Hajj Dormitory, East Jakarta, on Friday (17/4/2026).

He also believes that the world’s current leaders who are in conflict can capture the values of peace from it.

“Hajj truly brings a message of peace, a message of equality, a message of protection for women, a message of not hurting, even plants and animals must not be harmed,” said Dahnil.
