SATUSEHAT Integrated with SIAK, Birth Certificates Can Be Issued on the Same Day

The government has integrated the SATUSEHAT platform with the centralised Population Administration Information System (SIAK) to accelerate the issuance of civil documents for newborns. Through this integration, birth data recorded at hospitals or community health centres can be directly connected to SIAK for processing into a birth certificate. The breakthrough was realised through the integration of the SATUSEHAT platform with centralised SIAK, launched at Pasar Minggu Community Health Centre in South Jakarta on Tuesday (11/8). This marks a new step by the government in delivering faster, integrated population administration services with minimal manual processes. Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian stated that the SATUSEHAT-SIAK integration allows the birth certificate issuance process to be carried out immediately after a birth is recorded. “Once the SATUSEHAT data system merges with Mr Teguh’s system that issues birth certificates, and we can make it digital, it will be directly connected. The child is born, and on the same day we issue the birth certificate,” Tito said in a statement on Thursday (13/8/2026). He also emphasised that Dukcapil data serves as a primary platform for digital governance because it is continuously updated following population dynamics, including births, deaths, relocations and changes in civil status. Meanwhile, Minister for State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform Rini Widyantini assessed that a birth certificate is not merely an administrative document, but a child’s first identity and the gateway to various public services. “When a child is born, the state must not arrive late; the state must be present from the first day that child is born,” Rini asserted. Beyond birth certificates, this integration also enables changes to the Family Card and the issuance of the Child Identity Card to be processed in an integrated manner, provided the child’s name has been decided. For the government, the biggest change is not simply the use of technology, but the transformation in how society receives services. “Data moves from one system to another, not the public having to move from one office to another. So it is the data that moves, not the people,” Rini stressed. The integration further reinforces the position of population data as the main foundation of the digital government ecosystem. This was acknowledged by the Chair of the Government Digital Transformation Acceleration Committee, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan. Luhut, who also chairs the National Economic Council, stated that Dukcapil holds a strategic position in government data integration. “Dukcapil is the key, apparently the backbone,” Luhut remarked. The launch of the SATUSEHAT-SIAK integration was marked by the handover of a Birth Certificate, Family Card, and Child Identity Card to the family of Ananda Bara Mahendra. For the Directorate General of Dukcapil, this integration is a tangible manifestation of population administration service transformation: faster, easier, more accurate, and increasingly integrated. It also represents an achievement in the implementation of the Digital ID Programme funded by the World Bank.
