Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Traffic Directorate (Ditlantas) of Metro Jaya Regional Police is opening four locations for mobile driving licence (SIM) services for the public wishing to renew the validity period of this legal requirement for driving, in the Jakarta area, on Saturday. The mobile SIM services provided by Ditlantas Metro Jaya Police aim to make it easier for the public to handle or complete one of the requirements for driving. Through the X account @tmcpoldametro, it was announced that the service is open from 08:00 to 12:00 WIB. East Jakarta: Lobby in front of Grand Cakung Mall. North Jakarta: Main lobby of LTC Glodok. South Jakarta: Parking area beside Trilogi University. West Jakarta: South lobby of Ciputra Mall. Central Jakarta: Parking area of the Lapangan Banteng Post Office. The requirements are a photocopy of a valid KTP, the old physical SIM and photocopy, proof of health check, and proof of psychology test. This mobile SIM service can only renew SIMs that are still valid for certain categories, namely SIM A and SIM C. This service only handles renewals of SIM A and SIM C that are still valid, while holders of SIMs whose validity has expired must apply for a new SIM at the Daan Mogot SIM Police Station in West Jakarta. For renewal fees, in accordance with Government Regulation No. 76 of 2020 on Types and Rates of State Revenue Other Than Taxes (PNBP) applicable to the Police, it is Rp80,000 for SIM A renewal and Rp75,000 for SIM C renewal. In addition to these fees, applicants also need to pay additional costs, including psychology test fees of Rp60,000 and health test fees of Rp35,000. For information, drivers who cannot show a valid SIM will be subject to sanctions in accordance with Article 288 paragraph 2 of Law No. 22 of 2009 on Road Traffic and Transportation. The maximum sanction that can be imposed is imprisonment for up to one month or a fine of up to Rp250,000.
