Satria Reveals Non-Standard Waste Fragments Sent to Klungkung

Regent of Klungkung, I Made Satria, has revealed findings of problematic organic waste or compost materials from Denpasar. This was discovered during his team’s strict supervision of every truck entering the organic waste processing area at the Bali Cultural Centre (PKB), Klungkung.

“I have deployed officers to conduct strict supervision to ensure there is no open dumping there. In fact, yesterday there was a shipment of non-compliant waste that I returned. I sent it back. Don’t come here, return to Denpasar. We are not joking,” Satria stated to detikBali on Wednesday (22/4/2026).

Satria emphasised that the waste forced to turn back to Denpasar was not inorganic. It was organic or compost raw material, but the fragments did not meet the standards. “That’s why I returned it,” he asserted.

According to Satria, the Bali Provincial Government (Pemprov Bali) has not yet sat down with the Klungkung Regency Government (Pemkab Klungkung) to discuss the details of making compost from organic waste fragments in the buffer zone of the PKB area. Satria claims he has invited Pemprov Bali to provide explanations, but has not received a definite schedule.

“I have invited the governor or at least the Bali Provincial Environmental Agency (Dinas KLH) to provide detailed explanations on what exactly is meant by (organic waste processing) next to the reservoir. Until now, I have not received that information,” Satria explained.

Satria hopes that the organic waste processing in the PKB area, Klungkung, can be detailed for him. This is so that Satria can provide good explanations to the public regarding the Bali Provincial Government’s activities in his area, especially for residents who are not yet aware of the organic waste fragments or compost materials and the processing process, including various impacts from those activities.

In addition, Satria also questioned the contributions that the local government can provide as well as the compensation that will be obtained from the organic waste processing.

“We hope the province can soon convey that so I can also inform the public,” hoped the politician from the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP).
