Satpol PP Removes Seven Illegal Signs Installed by Photographers in Malioboro
The Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) has removed seven illegal signboards installed by photographers in the Malioboro area of Jogja. Officials warned that sanctions will be imposed if the signs are reinstalled.
The seven illegal signs were removed over a two-day operation. “Yes, seven were removed in the Malioboro area on Saturday and Sunday,” said Yudho Bangun Pamungkas, Head of Operational Control for the Yogyakarta Satpol PP, as reported by detikJogja on Tuesday (4/8/2026).
Bangun added that the photographers responsible for installing the signs have been dealt with by officers. “Currently, the actions taken are securing the items and issuing statements. Yes, all of them are from photographers,” he continued.
The photographers involved have made written statements agreeing not to repeat the offence. “The statement is a commitment not to repeat the act. Securing the items and the statement serve as administrative sanctions. If they repeat the offence, they can face judicial sanctions,” he explained.
