Satpol PP Raids Bogor Nightclub After Viral Brawl

The Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) conducted a raid on a nightlife venue (THM) on Jalan Merdeka, Central Bogor, Bogor City, after a brawl at the location went viral. Satpol PP checked the restaurant’s business licence and its alcohol sales permit. Bogor City Satpol PP Head Pupung Wahyu Purnama told reporters on Wednesday that the action was a follow-up to the incident which went viral on social media regarding the Saturday night event. He stated they came to clarify the situation and check the licensing held by the venue, Teras Nona Manis. Satpol PP visited the nightlife venue in the early hours of the morning, requesting information from the management regarding the altercation that occurred the previous weekend. Following the inquiry, Pupung stated that according to the management, the viral brawl took place outside the premises and did not involve patrons. However, the management will be summoned to the Satpol PP office for further clarification. Pupung explained that the manager claimed the brawlers were not patrons of the café, and that the fight occurred outside before being pulled inside to be calmed down and secured. He added that they would summon the management to clarify the chronology and investigate whether there were any other violations. During the raid, Pupung noted that dozens of Class B and C alcoholic beverages were found being sold without a permit. The alcohol was subsequently confiscated and taken to the Satpol PP office. Approximately 35 bottles of various brands were secured. Upon inspection, the restaurant was found to hold a permit for Class A alcohol sales only. Pupung stated that a first warning was issued as a result of the alcohol discovery. In accordance with regulations, sanctions including the temporary suspension of the venue’s operations will be imposed if repeated violations occur. He said they would monitor for further violations following the warning, noting that standard operating procedures involve a series of steps before a temporary business closure sanction is applied for repeat offences.
