Satpol PP Officer Investigated for Alleged Extortion at Free School

An individual claiming to be a member of the Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) named Givson Samosir is suspected of extortion at the Merah Putih Learning Centre (Rumbel) in the Cilincing area, North Jakarta. The DKI Jakarta Satpol PP is investigating the case.

The learning centre’s management stated that the perpetrator used an alias when attempting to carry out the extortion. The Head of DKI Jakarta Satpol PP, Satriadi Gunawan, confirmed that the suspect visited the location on Monday, 6 July 2026, at around 2.30 p.m. Western Indonesia Time. The suspect questioned the learning activity permits and other licences before ultimately demanding Rp 300,000, of which only Rp 150,000 was handed over. The suspect claimed to be a member of the North Jakarta Satpol PP.

Following an examination on Thursday, 9 July, the perpetrator faces severe disciplinary punishment for violating employee regulations. However, officials stated that sanctions have not yet been imposed as the investigation by the Civil Service Investigator (PPNS) team is still ongoing.

Authorities clarified that the suspect is not a member of the North Jakarta Satpol PP but is instead an Operational Staff Expert for the PPNS and Operations Section of the East Jakarta Satpol PP. The DKI Jakarta Satpol PP expressed regret over the incident and urged the public to immediately contact the 112 call centre if they encounter any officers engaging in illegal levies.

Puput Enjelia, a manager at the learning centre, recounted that the perpetrator used the alias ‘Aceng’ or ‘Acong’ during the incident. The suspect initially demanded Rp 300,000 for ‘building money’ and ‘coffee money’ for five people. The centre eventually handed over Rp 150,000, consisting of small change collected from the children, but the perpetrator insisted on the full amount. When questioned about his specific unit, the suspect refused to answer, handed his mobile phone to a staff member, and fled with the money. Following a visit from North Jakarta Satpol PP officers to investigate, the management was informed that the suspect had been involved in multiple cases and was in the process of being dismissed.
