Satpol PP officer in Tulungagung took part in a drinking party with a thief

Leope Pinnega Handika, head of the Performance Evaluation and Welfare of Apparatus at the Badan Kepegawaian dan Pengembangan Sumber Daya Manusia (BKPSDM) Tulungagung, said the officer involved was identified by the initials ED. At the time of the incident, the individual was on duty guarding the government office complex in the former Belga area of Tulungagung.

‘Investigations are currently underway. So if proven, there are penalties of medium and serious levels,’ he told detikJatim on Wednesday, 20 May 2026.

According to data collected by BKPSDM Tulungagung, the number of Satpol PP members who got drunk with the thief was only one person, and he held the status of a Civil Servant (PNS). Nevertheless, the agency will delve into the matter through examinations of ED and other witnesses.

‘For now it is only one person. We have requested statements from one person. It may develop during the investigations,’ he explained.

He noted that disciplinary sanctions for civil servants cannot be imposed arbitrarily; all stages of investigation must be completed to determine the level of disciplinary violation.

‘This is still in progress. So we cannot provide a definite answer yet. There is the possibility of medium-level disciplinary punishment; it could be a demotion or removal from duty. So his post could be downgraded,’ he added.
