Satpol PP Intervenes After Waste Burning Causes Distress in Cilebut Barat, Bogor
The Bogor Regency Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) in West Java has reprimanded a resident for burning waste and leftover livestock feed in Cilebut Barat after receiving complaints from other residents. The burning activity was reported to be a daily occurrence, causing distress and disturbing the comfort of neighbours.
“That’s correct, the incident happened about a week ago and has been resolved. Residents of the Emerald housing estate reported it, while the person doing the burning was in the BCD housing estate, behind Emerald. After the report, we went to the location with the sub-district Satpol PP and regional supervisory officials,” said Cilebut Barat Village Head Dasuki when contacted on Monday (6/7/2026).
Dasuki stated that the resident responsible for the burning admitted to the act. The individual also apologised and promised not to repeat the offence.
“Alhamdulillah, it wasn’t a big issue; he even apologised. He said, ‘I’m sorry, Village Head, I didn’t know the smoke would travel so far.’ So essentially, he accepted the reprimand for burning the waste, and the location has also been cleaned up,” Dasuki said.
“They didn’t know there was a prohibition against burning waste. We reprimanded them, and the person concerned understood and has also apologised,” he added.
Dasuki added that appeals not to burn waste have been conveyed to residents. Reprimands are also given if residents are found burning waste and causing smoke that disturbs the comfort of other residents.
“Cilebut Barat used to be a village, but now there are many newcomers and housing estates, and burning waste is no longer allowed because it is indeed a nuisance,” Dasuki said.
“The aim is to appeal to the community. We have conveyed this through RT/RW groups, as an appeal from the village administration. We also give direct reprimands if there are still residents burning waste. We also encourage the community to remind each other,” he added.
