A lecturer at Universitas Kristen Wira Wacana (Unkriswina) in Sumba, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), identified as RAL, has been questioned by the university’s Task Force for the Prevention and Handling of Violence in Higher Education (Satgas PPKPT) over allegations of sexual harassment of a student, JSM.

Rector Umbu Ho Ara of Unkriswina told detikBali on Sunday (31 May 2026): ‘Based on a one-hour update from the Satgas PPKPT chair, they met with lecturer RAL last night.’

Umbu added that the Satgas PPKPT has also contacted local residents and the student to gather further information and facts regarding the case. However, he declined to disclose the results of the questioning.

‘Details of the task force meeting have not been released and will be shared once complete. The Satgas PPKPT Unkriswina Sumba is currently working on the case,’ Umbu explained.

Satgas PPKPT Unkriswina Sumba Secretary, Pastor Trince Dondu, also refused to comment on the questioning, stating all information must go through the university rector. ‘Regarding this case, all information is channelled through one door. Apologies and thank you,’ Trince said briefly.

East Sumba Regency Police’s PPA Unit Head, Inspector Ahmad Furqan, said police investigators have not yet questioned RAL in this case. According to him, the Unkriswina law lecturer is expected to be questioned next week. ‘Not yet (questioned), scheduled for next week,’ Ahmad stated.

Previously, police revealed the method of sexual harassment allegedly committed by Unkriswina Sumba lecturer RAL against his student, JMS (20). The alleged incident took place at RAL’s residence in Kanatang District, East Sumba Regency, NTT.

‘For now, the victim stated that the lecturer initially invited her to his home to help prepare a report,’ said East Sumba Regency Police’s PPA Unit Head, Inspector Ahmad Furqan, on Friday (29 May).
