JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Task Force for Eradicating Illegal Financial Activities (Satgas PASTI) has halted 951 illegal online loan (pinjol) entities as well as 2 illegal investment offerings during the first quarter of 2026.

Satgas PASTI Secretariat Hudiyanto stated that these illegal online loan entities and investment offerings were identified from various websites and applications that have the potential to harm the public.

“Satgas PASTI continues to strengthen efforts to eradicate illegal financial activities and handle financial transaction fraud as part of consumer and public protection initiatives,” he said in a written statement on Wednesday (29/4/2026).

Hudiyanto revealed that they have compiled several of the most commonly reported illegal financial and fraud methods by the public.

Perpetrators offer earnings from simple activities such as giving reviews, watching ads, or clicking links.

They then ask victims to deposit a certain amount of funds with promises of multiplied profits.

Second, the method of imitating licensed investment offerings.

Perpetrators mimic the names, logos, or identities of legitimate financial service businesses to convince the public.

However, the offerings are not conducted by the licensed parties in question.

Third, the funding offer method.

Perpetrators offer funding for businesses or specific projects with promises of fixed returns, but without adequate explanations of the business model, agreements, and supervision.

Fourth, the money game method. Perpetrators recruit new members, and funds from new members are used to pay profits to old members, meaning the profits are not from actual business activities.

Fifth, the method of illegal cryptocurrency asset trading.

Perpetrators offer investments or trading of cryptocurrency assets by parties that are not registered or licensed by the relevant authorities.
