The Financial Services Authority (OJK) continues to strengthen efforts to eradicate illegal online lending (pinjol). Throughout the first quarter of 2026, the Task Force for Eradicating Illegal Financial Activities (Satgas PASTI) successfully shut down hundreds of entities that have been troubling the public. Not only pinjol, but bogus investment offers were also addressed. Amid the prevalence of such cases, the public is urged to be increasingly wary of various increasingly diverse scam tactics. Satgas PASTI Secretariat, Hudiyanto, stated that these entities were identified through various websites and applications that have the potential to harm the public. The following is the list of illegal pinjol and illegal investments that have been halted by Satgas PASTI in the first quarter of 2026: Latest illegal pinjol and illegal investments from OJK. These tactics often appear convincing but end up harming victims. Here are several patterns that need to be watched out for: 1. Advertising services with a deposit system. Perpetrators offer income from simple activities such as giving reviews, watching ads, or clicking links. After that, victims are asked to deposit funds with promises of multiplied profits. 2. Impersonation of licensed financial services companies. Perpetrators mimic the name, logo, or identity of official financial services companies to convince victims. However, the offers do not come from licensed parties. 3. Offers of business or project funding. Victims are promised fixed returns, but without clarity on the business model, agreements, or oversight. 4. Ponzi schemes. Profits for old members are paid from deposits of new members, not from real business activities. 5. Illegal cryptocurrency asset trading. Perpetrators offer crypto investments without permission from authorities, usually accompanied by claims of high profits without risk. “These tactics are generally disseminated through social media, private messages, conversation groups, and other digital channels,” he explained.
