Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The Task Force for Eradicating Illegal Financial Activities (Satgas PASTI) has halted the business activities of a suspected fraud perpetrator impersonating Adobe Inc.’s e-commerce platform, namely Magento. This entity is known to have misused the name of a licensed foreign company to facilitate its actions.

Magento is suspected of impersonating the product from Adobe Inc., namely Magento Commerce. Adobe Inc. is a multinational software company licensed in the United States, while the Magento Commerce product is software used to build and manage e-commerce.

“Magento is indicated to be running an investment fraud scheme in the form of offering store account creation on the Magento platform and making deposit fund payments to obtain sales commissions and cashbacks,” as quoted from the official statement on Tuesday (12/5/2026).

Adobe Inc. is known not to conduct investment offering activities. Magento also does not have a legal entity in Indonesia, and the app/website used is not registered as an Electronic System Operator (PSE) with the Ministry of Communication and Digital RI.

In connection with these findings, Satgas PASTI has halted Magento’s activities and will carry out blocking of access to the related app and/or links (URL). Satgas PASTI will also coordinate with law enforcement authorities for further enforcement actions.

The public who feel aggrieved are urged to immediately report to local law enforcement to accelerate the handling process.

Satgas PASTI once again advises the public to always be wary of investment offers or financial activities that promise high and illogical returns.

This is particularly for companies that use the names of licensed foreign companies without clear legality in Indonesia. Such as the entity Mbastack Periklanan Kreatif Terbatas, which is strongly suspected of using the name of a foreign company called MBAStack Limited, or Appeninc, which is strongly suspected of using the name of a foreign company called Appen Inc.

In addition, Satgas PASTI also advises the public to be wary of e-commerce impersonation fraud methods that offer sales commissions or other schemes.

If they find indications of illegal online investment or loan offers, the public can report them via the website sipasti.ojk.go.id or through OJK Contact 157, WhatsApp 081157157157, and email [email protected].

Meanwhile, the public who become victims of financial transaction scams can report via the Indonesia Anti-Scam Centre (IASC) website at iasc.ojk.go.id to support quick blocking of the perpetrators’ accounts.
