Satelindo launches new card

KUTA, Bali (JP): Telecommunications service provider PT Satelit Palapa Indonesia (Satelindo) launched on Wednesday a new prepaid calling card named Passcall for international calls.

Satelindo public relations manager Tb Ade Lukman said the card could be used to call overseas from fixed line phones at home, public pay phones or mobile phones by simply dialing the card and holders' identification numbers.

"Charges for international calls with Passcall are between 20 percent and 40 percent cheaper than charges for common international calls," he said.

He said unlike the previously launched 008 Card calling card, Passcall card can be reloaded after it runs out of pulses.

A Passcall card containing 200 telephone pulses is sold for Rp 200,000 (US$28.57). A reloading voucher can reload the card with between 250 and 500 pulses.

Satelindo has targeted to sell no less than 100,000 Passcall cards in 2000. (zen/cst)
