Jakarta, VIVA – Golkar Party Secretary General M. Sarmuji has called for the maximum utilisation of Regional Leadership Council (DPD) offices of the Golkar Party across Indonesia to truly serve as “people’s houses”. He made the remarks whilst opening a Ramadan Fest event involving micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) operators at the Golkar DPD office in Tulungagung, East Java.

According to Sarmuji, the Ramadan Fest programme, which invited MSME operators, is part of Golkar’s commitment to transforming party offices into productive, open living spaces for the public.

“The Central Leadership Council (DPP) of the Golkar Party is currently drafting implementation guidelines to maximise the use of Golkar DPD offices across Indonesia. We want every Golkar DPD office throughout Indonesia to truly become the people’s house — a place where people can convey their aspirations, report their concerns, and seek solutions to the problems they face,” he told reporters in Tulungagung, East Java, on Monday, 23 February 2026.

He stressed that some time ago, when social unrest occurred in several regions, he had declared that all Golkar Party offices across Indonesia must serve as houses of public aspiration.

“These large, spacious premises — and nearly all Golkar DPD offices are quite expansive — must be maximally utilised for interacting with the public, communicating intensively, and finding solutions to people’s problems,” Sarmuji said.

The use of the Tulungagung Golkar DPD office as a people’s house, he emphasised, is not merely a concept. Previously, the same venue hosted health education sessions on cervical cancer prevention, beauty care training, and cooking classes attended by local residents.

These activities serve as concrete examples of how party offices can function as spaces for education, empowerment, and community skills development.

On the same occasion, Sarmuji also highlighted the success of the MSME strengthening and curation programme initiated by the Golkar DPD in Tulungagung Regency. He noted that he had previously visited the same location to curate the MSME strengthening programme and improve the qualifications of small business operators.

“Thankfully, it has already begun to show results. Several products have attracted interest as far as Jakarta and Surabaya, the result of the MSME curation programme organised by the Golkar DPD in Tulungagung Regency,” he said.
