JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The MH Thamrin Sarinah Pedestrian Overpass (Jembatan Penyeberangan Orang/JPO), in Menteng, Central Jakarta, is now usable for residents to cross as of Wednesday, 4 March 2026. At the site, three residents were observed using the overpass to cross toward Sarinah. They walked across the structure on its second floor toward the east to approach the lift. One resident pressed the lift button to go down to the basement of the overpass. When the lift door opened, they entered immediately.

Kompas.com also attempted to use the Sarinah JPO to cross towards the west, starting from the basement in front of Sarinah Mall. To cross there is a dedicated path to the lift on the basement level. The path is about 60 centimetres wide and is equipped with iron handrails on both sides. Arriving in front of the lift, there is a button to help go to the second floor. After pressing the button and the doors opening, Kompas.com entered the lift. A sign near the door states the lift’s maximum capacity of 10 people and a maximum total weight of 800 kilograms.

Upon reaching the second floor, Kompas.com walked across the JPO’s white-tiled deck. The JPO is covered by a roof with a wooden ceiling and square, evenly spaced lighting along the length.
