Sari Yuliati Highlights Importance of Hajj Pilgrims' Service Quality
Member of the DPR RI Hajj Oversight Team (Timwas) 2026, Sari Yuliati, has highlighted the importance of service quality for Indonesian Hajj pilgrims during their pilgrimage in the Holy Cities. She emphasised that service quality must be prioritised, considering both pilgrim comfort and the welfare of on-ground Hajj staff, during a visit to Indonesian pilgrims at Hotel Lulua Al Masher in Mecca on Sunday, 24 May 2026.
During the visit, she received several suggestions from pilgrims, particularly regarding meal variety and attention to the welfare of on-ground Hajj staff. “Today, we received several notes from pilgrims, especially concerning meal variety. Additionally, they want more focus on staff welfare,” said Sari Yuliati.
She explained that all feedback from pilgrims would be presented in a meeting with the Amirul Hajj and Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj to find swift and appropriate solutions ahead of the Hajj peak. “Following this, we will meet with the Amirul Hajj and the Ministry of Hajj to gather pilgrims’ suggestions, discuss them collectively, and find solutions,” she added.
The Golkar Party politician also stressed that pilgrims’ devotion should not be used as an excuse to lower service standards. She stated that the state must ensure pilgrims receive their rightful entitlements. “We tolerate no exploitation of pilgrims’ devotion during worship,” she insisted.
She added that pilgrims must receive service supporting their health and comfort to fully carry out the Hajj rituals. “We hope pilgrims can worship in good health and carry out the Hajj rites with devotion,” she concluded.
