RSUP Dr Sardjito has suspended the clinical placement of a student named Elda Putri Rahardini, who made sarcastic comments on social media about BPJS Kesehatan patient Yurizal Tri Chaerawan. Elda has also been returned to UGM. UGM is said to have responded positively to the decision.

Yurizal was the patient whose post complained about having to wait eight hours for an inpatient room. Yurizal ultimately died several days later.

For context, a clinical placement is a period of clinical practice rotation that must be undertaken by medical, dental or nursing students (junior doctors) at hospitals, community health centres or clinics.

Sardjito Hospital’s Legal and Public Relations Manager, Banu Hermawan, said the Specialist Medical Education Programme student named Elda Putri Rahardini was undertaking a clinical placement at Dr Sardjito Hospital. In light of this case, Sardjito Hospital has suspended Elda’s placement.

“Sardjito’s authority is to suspend the individual’s clinical placement. The placement is a practice at Sardjito. We have suspended it. But the authority to deactivate her lies with UGM,” Banu said when contacted by journalists on Thursday (6/8/2026).

Banu explained that this step was the result of coordination between the Sardjito Hospital team and UGM through a team called the Dignified Education Team.

“The first step was to deactivate the individual and suspend her clinical placement. That was done yesterday. As soon as the incident occurred, we immediately put her on hold,” Banu said.

“We returned her to UGM, and UGM responded positively. In a case like this, we suspend her education process during the further investigation through this Dignified Education Team,” he continued.

It was previously reported that the account @erudarahaadini belonging to Elda Putri Rahardini went viral because of a comment that was insulting in tone towards a BPJS patient who complained about waiting eight hours. The account was said to belong to a health worker at RSUP Dr Sardjito. However, RSUP Dr Sardjito later stressed that Elda was not its employee.

“Her PP is like a ‘have’ person but actually ‘haven’t’? haven’t some brain cells,” wrote the account @erudarahaadini commenting on the thread by @yurizaltrich. Translated, this reads: “Her PP makes her seem well-off, when in reality she is not. In fact, she seems to have no brain.”

The comment immediately drew negative responses from netizens. One Threads account named @sunyidibaliksenyum even revealed the identity of the owner of the @erudarahaadini account.

“Digital footprints of those welcome to the WALL OF FAME, humans lacking in empathy. Let us start with the first one: Dr Elda Putri Rahardini, M.D., Ph.D., a UGM alumna and LPDP scholarship recipient. Hopefully after this you will be wiser, doctor erudarahaadini,” wrote the account @sunyidibaliksenyum.
