Sardjito Hospital Returns Resident Doctor Elda to UGM After Patient Insult Case
Dr Sardjito General Hospital (RSUP Dr Sardjito) has returned resident doctor Elda Putri Rahardini, a participant in the Specialist Doctor Education Programme (PPDS), to Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM). The hospital outlined several stages that led to the decision to return Elda.
Elda has been under scrutiny for posting a comment mocking Yurizal Tri Chaerawan, a BPJS patient who died after complaining about waiting eight hours for an inpatient room. The hospital immediately suspended her clinical placement.
‘We deactivated the individual concerned and halted her placement as the first step. That was done yesterday. As soon as the incident occurred, we put her on hold,’ explained Banu Hermawan, Legal and Public Relations Manager at RSUP Dr Sardjito, when contacted on Thursday (6 August 2026).
Meanwhile, the investigation into the insulting comment about the BPJS patient is being conducted by Sardjito Hospital in coordination with a UGM team called the Dignified Education Team. The authority to suspend Elda’s placement rests with the hospital, whilst the right to deactivate her status lies with UGM.
‘In a case like this, we halt her education process during the investigation,’ he added.
The hospital also revealed the reason for returning Elda to UGM. ‘We do not want Elda to be present in a clinical setting at Sardjito. We returned her to UGM, and UGM responded positively,’ he clarified.
The account @erudarahaadini, belonging to Elda Putri Rahardini, went viral for its insulting comment directed at a BPJS patient who had complained about waiting eight hours. The account was alleged to belong to a healthcare worker at RSUP Dr Sardjito, though the hospital later denied that Elda was an employee.
‘PP looks like a have but is actually a haven’t? haven’t some brain cells,’ the account @erudarahaadini wrote in response to a thread by @yurizaltrich.
The comment immediately drew negative reactions from netizens. One Threads account, @sunyidibaliksenyum, even revealed the identity of the account holder.
