RSUP Dr. Sardjito has corrected information indicating that the BPJS patient who was the object of unsympathetic comments by a PPDS doctor on social media was not from the hospital.

The PPDS doctor in question is Elda Putri Rahardini from FK-KMK UGM. She was previously considered to have made unempathetic comments about a BPJS patient via Threads.

“The patient who was commented on on social media was not a Sardjito patient,” said the Legal and Public Relations Manager of RSUP Dr. Sardjito, Banu Hermawan, when contacted on Thursday (6/8).

Banu on this occasion also reiterated that Elda is not a staff doctor at RSUP Dr. Sardjito, but rather holds PPDS status at the hospital.

RSUP Dr. Sardjito has also suspended Elda’s practice within the hospital environment during the investigation process related to the alleged unempathetic comments on social media.

The step was taken as an initial follow-up together with FK-KMK UGM through the Dignified Education Team.

Banu explained that the hospital’s authority is to suspend Elda’s clinical placement or practice at RSUP Dr. Sardjito. Meanwhile, the decision to deactivate her educational status as a PPDS participant lies with FK-KMK UGM, Elda’s home campus.

“Sardjito’s authority is to suspend the person concerned from what is called a clinical placement. The clinical placement is practice at Sardjito. We have suspended that. But the deactivation, the party that has the right to deactivate is UGM,” said Banu.

He said the suspension of the clinical placement was carried out immediately after the incident came to public attention. Thus, Elda is no longer permitted to carry out clinical practice at RSUP Dr. Sardjito during the examination process.

“That (the suspension of the clinical placement) was done yesterday,” said Banu.

The incident began with a patient’s complaint via his Threads account, @yurizaltrich, on 22 July 2026.

In the post, the patient claimed to have waited 8 hours and still had not received a room for treatment. He was reluctant to disclose the name of the hospital where he was being treated because he had registered through BPJS Kesehatan.

However, the patient’s post instead received many negative comments. Not a few responded cynically or with a judgemental and demeaning tone.

From various information and findings by netizens, some of the unempathetic comments on @yurizaltrich’s post were made by accounts belonging to health workers or doctors.

One of these accounts was @erudarahaadini, belonging to Elda Putri Rahardini, who was said to be one of the doctors at RSUP Dr Sardjito. She apologised and admitted her comments were inappropriate. Until on Saturday (1/8), the patient was reported to have died. The @yurizaltrich post immediately became the focus of attention.

It was later discovered that Elda is a PPDS doctor from FK-KMK UGM who was serving at RSUP Dr. Sardjito. The hospital together with the university have taken steps to request clarification.
