Sardjito Hospital Clarifies Alleged Insult by Medical Trainee Against Deceased BPJS Patient
RSUP Dr Sardjito has spoken out regarding an alleged incident in which one of its health workers posted a sarcastic comment on social media about the death of Yurizal Tri Chaerawan, a BPJS Kesehatan patient. Yurizal was a patient whose post complained about having to wait eight hours for an inpatient room.
Before his passing, Yurizal had written on the social media platform Threads about his difficulty in obtaining a hospital room. However, netizens instead highlighted the many unsympathetic comments on the thread uploaded to the account @yurizaltrich on 23 July.
“8 hours and still no room. I don’t want to name the hospital because I use BPJS,” wrote @yurizaltrich, as quoted by detikJogja on Wednesday (5/8/2026).
Among the many insulting comments that appeared, one account was said to belong to a health worker at RSUP Dr Sardjito named @erudarahaadini.
“Your profile picture looks like a ‘have’ but in reality you’re a ‘haven’t’? Haven’t some brain cells,” wrote the account @erudarahaadini in response to @yurizaltrich’s thread.
The comment immediately drew negative reactions from netizens. One Threads account named @sunyidibaliksenyum even revealed the identity of the owner of the @erudarahaadini account.
“Digital footprints, welcome to the WALL OF FAME, people lacking in empathy. Let’s start with the first one, there is Dr Elda Putri Rahardini, M.D., Ph.D., a UGM alumna and LPDP scholarship recipient. Hopefully after this you will be wiser, doctor erudarahaadini,” wrote the account @sunyidibaliksenyum.
When asked for confirmation, the Legal and Public Relations Manager of RSUP Dr Sardjito, Banu Hermawan, denied that Elda Putri Rahardini is a health worker at Dr Sardjito Hospital. He said Elda Putri Rahardini is a participant in the Specialist Doctor Education Programme (PPDS) at Dr Sardjito Hospital.
“After we conducted an investigation related to our Instagram, because we were aware, meaning Sardjito was aware of the upload. It was indeed done by one of the trainees. So she is not an employee of RSUP Dr Sardjito. She is purely a trainee,” Banu stressed when contacted today.
“PPDS, so as has been uploaded in the media, there are comments that she is PPDS and so on, indeed we acknowledge that she is PPDS. She is purely a trainee,” Banu continued.
Regarding follow-up action, Banu said that because her status is that of a trainee, coordination must be carried out with her home faculty, including regarding further handling.
“So that this is more proportional. We do not look at it in fragments, but we will see what the actual upload from the person concerned on the mass media was. With an upload like this, we were quite shocked,” said Banu.
“We have what is called the Dignified Education Team. This team consists of people from Sardjito and from the Faculty of Medicine. This team will move together. It is not partial, with Sardjito moving alone and UGM moving alone. This Dignified Education Team will summon and request clarification from the person concerned,” he added.
On the other hand, Banu also stressed that the death of Yurizal Tri Chaerawan due to having to wait eight hours for an inpatient room did not occur at Dr Sardjito Hospital.
“It did not happen at Sardjito and (Yurizal Tri Chaerawan) was not a Sardjito patient,” Banu concluded.
