Perumda Pembangunan Sarana Jaya is set to collaborate with the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) to curb the proliferation of illegal parking in the area surrounding the MRT Lebak Bulus depot in South Jakarta. Additionally, they are opening opportunities for partnerships with other parties to provide parking near the site.

Sarana Jaya’s President Director, Bernard Yohanes, stated that his company is ready to support the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government’s policies in delivering an integrated and sustainable parking system. They are not relying solely on internal assets but are also exploring collaborations with various parties to provide parking land.

“Parking management is not just about vehicles, but about restoring the function of public spaces for the community. We are collaborating with Dishub and relevant stakeholders to ensure the solutions provided are not temporary,” Bernard said in his statement on Saturday (25/4/2026).

According to him, providing parking land is not only about orderliness but also about restoring the function of public spaces for the community. “Sarana Jaya fully supports the Deputy Governor’s initiative through collaborative provision of integrated, safe, and easily accessible parking land,” he added.

This step aligns with the DKI Provincial Government’s previous efforts to regulate illegal parking in the Lebak Bulus area, including around Poins Square and the MRT depot.

Previously, DKI Jakarta Deputy Governor Rano Karno prepared solutions to address illegal parking in the Lebak Bulus area of South Jakarta. One of them involves utilising land owned by the regional-owned enterprise Sarana Jaya, which will be transformed into a park-and-ride location.

Rano stated that this arrangement follows his direct observation of the frequent illegal parking, particularly around the area behind the shopping centre and near the Lebak Bulus MRT Station.

“Alhamdulillah, there is Sarana Jaya land nearby that actually already has plans to be developed into a park-and-ride. So, in the meantime, before it’s built, we can utilise it first,” Rano said on Friday (24/4).

According to him, this step is taken to prevent vehicles from being parked haphazardly on the roadside, which can trigger congestion. For now, the land will be used as a parking pocket until the permanent facility construction is realised.
