SAR team recovers unidentified body from Enim River
The joint SAR team has recovered an unidentified body from the banks of the Enim River in Muara Enim Regency, South Sumatra, and transported it to Rabain Hospital in Muara Enim. Muara Enim Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Chief Abdurrozieq Putra, contacted from Baturaja on Wednesday, stated that the corpse was discovered by local residents in the afternoon at around 4:23 PM WIB. ‘The body was first found by nearby residents while they were active in the river, detecting a foul smell,’ he said. Upon discovery, the corpse was in an advanced state of decomposition and lying along the Enim Riverbank, making identification difficult. Following the community report, the agency deployed joint personnel to retrieve the body for autopsy at Rabain Hospital. They have also coordinated with Muara Enim Police to deploy forensic teams to document and secure the surrounding area. ‘We have carried out the body recovery for autopsy at Rabain Hospital in Muara Enim to determine the gender and identity,’ he added.
