Meanwhile, Jember Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Head Edy Budi Susilo said the search for two tourists at Seruni Payangan Beach involved various SAR units including Jember SAR Post, Jember Regency BPBD, Ambulu Police Station, Ambulu Military District Command, Jember Police Marine Unit, TNI AL Puger Post, SAR Rimba Laut Payangan, Destana Panti, Baret Rescue, Siluman Rescue, Senkom Jember, and local residents. The SAR operation was supported by equipment such as rubber boats, water rescue gear, medical supplies, communication tools, and other support vessels. “The search for the second victim, Rifki, is still ongoing by the joint SAR team, considering weather conditions and personnel safety on-site,” he said. It is known that siblings Barokatul Hidayat and Rifki were visiting Seruni Payangan Beach on Saturday, 30 May 2026, when they went swimming and were swept away by waves on Jember’s southern coast, leading to their reported disappearance.
