SAR Team Evacuates Victims Trapped Under Rubble Following NTT Earthquake

An earthquake with a magnitude of 7 struck the East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) region on Saturday (15/8). The Joint SAR Team evacuated three people affected by the earthquake at Laurens Say Port, Maumere, Sikka Regency. One victim, Meliana Nenong, a 54-year-old woman, died after being struck by a collapsed building. Meanwhile, two other victims suffered injuries and were immediately evacuated to T.C. Hillers Maumere Regional General Hospital for treatment. Head of the Maumere SAR Office, Fathur Rahman, said the Joint SAR Team had proceeded to Nagekeo Regency and several other areas affected by the earthquake.
