The Denpasar City Council (DPRD) directly inspected the Integrated Utility Network System (SJUT) project by Perumda Bhukti Praja Sewakadarma of Denpasar City along Jalan Danau Tamblingan, Sanur, on Monday (20/4/2026).

This inspection was conducted to ensure the progress of the underground cable network installation project, which broke ground in September 2025, while highlighting the readiness of its field implementation.

“We want to see the situation on the ground for SJUT, the readiness of the infrastructure facilities and infrastructure,” said I Wayan Sutama, Chairman of Commission II of the Denpasar DPRD, on Monday (20/4/2026).

In the event, which was also attended by three Deputy Chairmen of the Denpasar DPRD, Sutama emphasised that SJUT is expected to resolve the issue of tangled cables in the Denpasar City area, including along Jalan Danau Tamblingan in Sanur and its connecting routes.

Sutama stressed the importance of compliance by internet service providers in supporting the programme.

He encouraged Perumda Bhukti Praja Sewakadarma (BPS) of Denpasar City to prepare regulations so that providers no longer delay using the underground network to maintain the city’s aesthetics.

“Later, the providers will make maximum use of this SJUT. So, as mentioned earlier, the providers will truly utilise SJUT optimally,” he explained.

In Perwali Number 31 of 2024, sanctions for providers who do not follow the provisions have been prepared. The DPRD assesses that this legal framework must be followed by firm steps in the field.

“I think that’s already there; if there are such issues, we must take firm steps,” he added.

Sutama also assessed that the SJUT project has the potential to provide economic impacts for Perumda, providers, the Denpasar City Government, and the community, so accelerating implementation is deemed important.

Regarding providers who are still stubborn, he assured that rule enforcement must be carried out so that city arrangement proceeds as planned.

“That’s why I said, our Perumda must be ready first, so then we will invite the providers, an approach to providers based on the existing Perumda,” he concluded.

Meanwhile, the Head of Perumda Bhukti Praja Sewakadarma (BPS) of Denpasar City, I Nyoman Putrawan, assured that the underground cable infrastructure in the Jalan Danau Tamblingan area and other connecting routes is fully ready.

“Its length is 3 kilometres and is 100 percent ready. Our infrastructure is already underground, but the migration is not yet because we are waiting for the Perwali (Mayor’s Regulation) as there are tariffs that must be included in the Perwali,” he explained.

Regarding sanctions for providers who do not follow the rules, Putrawan said his side is still waiting for regulations from the Denpasar City Government.

“We leave it to the Denpasar City Government to lead the discussion,” he asserted.
