The 6th Nusantara Santri Scout Camp (PPSN) 2026 is more than just a gathering for scout activities. Participants were also invited to demonstrate environmental care through the planting of one thousand trees at the An-Nur II Al-Murtadlo Islamic Boarding School in Malang, East Java, on Saturday (3/10/2026).

This tree-planting initiative is part of the ecotheology curriculum for the PPSN VI 2026 participants. Through this action, students are encouraged to understand that preserving nature requires more than just theoretical knowledge; it must be realised through concrete actions.

The Governor of East Java, Khofifah Indar Parawansa, stated that the planting of one thousand trees as part of the PPSN VI 2026 series has been thoroughly prepared. Preparations included selecting tree species, determining planting locations, and managing technical implementation.

According to Khofifah, coordination was conducted with relevant authorities in East Java and the Ministry of Religious Affairs to ensure the tree-planting movement could be successfully realised.

“Essentially, loving the environment is manifested, among other things, by planting trees,” Khofifah said in a press release received by Republika on Saturday (3/10/2025).

Khofifah explained that the specific planting sites were entrusted to the caregivers of the An-Nur II Islamic Boarding School. This was done to ensure that each type of tree is placed in a location suitable to the soil conditions and its specific growth requirements.
